Jacob Doczy, Staff Reporter

Everyone has their own story that they want to share. After conducting a very short interview, here is a little bit about our very own Jacob Doczy!

A 12 grader here at Mountainside, Doczy is a passionate sports goer, musician, and student. His interests include playing with the MHS band, watching sports, and trying out new things like journalism and photography. This will be his first year on staff.

Even as a Freshman, Doczy was interested in joining the MHS band. He now plays percussion instruments. Last year, he and the band took 4th place in the state contest! Outside of school and band, he takes lessons for piano and drums as practice. He has now been a musician since 2nd grade. More of his hobbies are things like passionately watching sports, especially baseball, football, basketball, or soccer. As well as partaking in the journalism club to be a sports reporter and photographer.

Overall, Jacob says he likes Mountainside. As a senior, the classes he’s taking this year include courses like Psychology, Mathematics, and Personal Finance. Besides going to college, he’s a little undecided about what he wants to do after high school. So, he’s purposely filling his schedule with a variety of classes to see what he likes best. The specific event he’s most excited for is his graduation. Additionally, he said if he could tell the freshmen anything, he would tell them, “Do what you can to enjoy high school; try things out.” Even though he’ll be graduating this year, Jacob’s favorite memory from high school would have to be being a part of the band and winning 4th place at the state contest.

Thank you Jacob! We’re excited to see what you’ll accomplish this year!
