One of the members of Mountainside’s The Peak is kind, funny, independent senior Isa Montgomery (she/her). Born and raised in Portland, one of her favorite childhood memories is visiting her grandma for the holidays, where her extended family gather for holiday dinners. On Christmas, tamales or pozole is a tradition. “We mainly just hang out and stuff, I get to see my adult cousins more.” she explained. 

In her spare time, she loves reading a good book. She also enjoys photography, watching shows and movies, and playing video games. Lately, she’s been into taking pictures of still scenes, but her favorite photos to take are landscapes and candids. She takes all her photos on her DSLR camera, bringing it everywhere from vacation to when she takes her dog on walks. 

Another thing Isa loves is the Spiderman movies. With the PS5 Spiderman 2 that came out on October 20, she is very excited to get to play it. As for video games, she likes Pokemon, Final Fantasy, Legend of Zelda, and Animal Crossing. 

At The Peak, Isa is excited to get experience in writing and photography. Because of her passion for photography, she’s especially looking forward to the photojournalism aspect of the newspaper. 

In the future, she plans to pursue a career in something related to photography or digital art, and wants to travel the world to take photos of all sorts of places. “Australia would be cool, even though I hate bugs, but it’s okay because it’s Australia,” she said. Other places include Italy, Paris, Greece, Mexico, Spain, Tokyo, Scotland, Seoul, Osaka, Rome, New York, and London. “I would like to take pictures of the different architecture and scenery.”
