Claire Kim, a junior passionate about writing, returns to the journalism club for a second time. In her second year, Claire wishes to improve her writing skills even more as well as gaining new skills in photography. In her freetime, besides writing, Claire loves to read novels. One of her favorites is The Perks of Being a Wallflower by Stephen Chbosky. She loves it due to its unique style and intriguing plot. When describing what she likes about the writing style Claire says, “I like the letter formatting throughout the book and how the character connects with the reader. It is something I’ve never seen before.” When she is not reading, Claire can be found watching her favorite show “Gilmore Girls”. She loves the fall vibes and the likable characters throughout the series especially the mother-daughter relationship between Rory and Lorelai as she can relate because she is also close with her mom.

One of Claire’s favorite artists is Taylor Swift. If she had to choose one song as her favorite, it would have to be “Cardigan” from Folklore. Discovered in quarantine, Claire had this song on repeat. “The lyrics really resonated with me and it is just one of those songs where you can really feel it in your soul” Claire says when describing her love for the song. After highschool, Claire has plans to go to college. Still unsure of what major to pick, one thing she knows is that she wants to do something related to English. Claire is looking forward to this journalism year and writing even more articles than before!
