Events to Attend in October

This year it’s still up in the air on whether or not people should hang out to celebrate Halloween, or fall activities in general, personally, I think with the right safety precautions, you should enjoy yourself this year. With that being said, here’s a compiled, easy-to-read list of local events that you might enjoy!

Name: Cinema of Horrors Drive-In Experience

Date: October 8th to the 31st, some days are excluded

Time: Opens 5 pm, Movie starts at 7 pm

Where: Clark County Fairgrounds, 17402 NE Delfel Rd, Ridgefield Washington

Time to Get There: About a 45-minute drive

Pay to Participate: 50-70 dollars

Details: During October, the Treadway Events and Entertainment presents horror movies to the public, movies start and end around 7 to 11 pm, and it can cost 50-70 dollars, depending on the ticket you buy. You can find the movie listings and a more detailed schedule, information, and tickets HERE.

Name: Underhill and Fearlandia Present Season of Screams

Date: October 22nd, and October 30th

Time: 22nd: 7-10pm; 30th: 6-10pm

Where: Underhill Haunted House, 300 N Winning Way, Portland

Time to get there: About a 30-minute drive

Pay to Participate: 25 Dollars, only an 11 ticket limit

Details: If you’re interested in haunted houses this is the place for you, a small group of artists and actors in Portland have created a haunted house for everyone to enjoy. Tickets are limited and it only opened a few years ago, so have an open mind and enjoy the ride! Additional information and tickets can be found HERE

Name: Halloween Goat Yoga Experience

Date: October 23rd and October 30th

Time: 3-4pm

Where: Original Goat Yoga- Oregon City OR, 17531 S Henrici Rd, Oregon City

Time to Get There: 40-50 minute drive

Pay to Participate: 35 dollars

Details: If you’re looking for something unusual to do this month, maybe this will be for you! At Beaver Lake Stables you can wear a costume and join some goats for yoga! Class starts promptly at 3 pm but if you get there about 20 minutes early you can enjoy some cider and food! For more information and tickets you can go HERE

Name: Howlween

Date: October 23rd-24th and October 28th-31st

Time: 9am-3pm

Where: Oregon Zoo, 4001 SW Canyon Rd, Portland

Time to Get There: about a 20-minute drive

Pay to Participate: Regular admission is 24 dollars is for 12-year-olds and up, 19 dollars is for 2-11-year-olds, free for 0-1-year-olds

Details: If you and your friends or family are interested in visiting the zoo this year this might be a good fit for you! During the next two weekends of October go to the Oregon Zoo to visit the animals and enjoy their scavenger hunt! It suggested that it’s for ages 2-12, but I don’t think that’s gonna stop anybody. Name: Season of the Witch Marketplace

Date: October 23rd

Time: 11am-6pm

Where: If The Broom Fits, 4145 SW 109th Ave, Beaverton

Time to Get There: About a 20-minute drive

Pay to Participate: Free

Details: If you’re an up-and-coming witch looking for supplies, celebrate Samhain, or just want to visit a fun farmers market, then this is a great place for you! Located across from that weird Chuck E. Cheese and next to a wellness center (what a fun bunch of neighbors) you’ll find a farmers market that hosts everything for your witchy and spiritual needs! Name: Nightmare Before Christmas Play

Date: October 22nd-24th

Time: 22nd-23rd starts at 7:30 pm, 24th starts at 2 pm

Where: Arlene Schnitzer Concert Hall, 1037 SW Broadway, Portland

Time to Get There: About a 30-minute drive

Pay to Participate: 81-586 dollars depending on seat and day

Details: If you’re looking for plays to go to that are perfect for this month this is a good play to go to! Down in the Portland area, you and your friends or family can enjoy The Nightmare Before Christmas, theater addition, for additional information and tickets you can go HERE.

Name: National Pumpkin Day

Date: October 25th

Details: I just thought I’d add this here so you can remind yourself to get pumpkins this year, you can’t fully celebrate Halloween without them

Name: Run Like Hell Marathon

Date: October 30th

Time: starts at 8 am, ends at 12 pm

Where: Milwaukie-Portland Elks Lodge #142, 13121 SE McLoughlin Blvd, Oak Grove

Time to Get There: About a 35-minute drive

Pay to Participate: Varies depending on the day and specific ticket

Details: Do you like running for absolutely no reason? Do you want to show off to strangers that your costume is better than theirs and you’re faster? Well then this is the race for you, join people all over the Portland area to run or walk a 5k and 10k race, for competitive people and people who want to just have fun! Name: Halloween Craft

Date: October 30th

Time: 10am-6pm

Where: Ledding Library, 10660 SE 21st Ave St, Milwaukie

Time to Get There: About 35 Minute Drive

Pay to Participate: Free

Details: If you have any younger siblings, like visiting libraries, and want every chance you can to get a free goodie bag, this is perfect for you. Stop by at Ledding Library with your family and pick up a Halloween-style goodie bag! For more information, you can go HERE.

Name: Halloween in Willamette

Date: October 31st

Time: 3-6pm

Where: 1785 Willamette Falls Dr, Suite #6 West Linn

Time to Get There: About a 30-minute drive

Pay to Participate: Free

Details: If you and your younger siblings are looking for some fun trick or treating then this can be a great activity! Here you can walk around a small portion of the Willamette area and trick or treat just before sunset, which is good for the little ones. For additional information, you can go HERE.
