Following the announcement of a two-week lockdown from Governor Kate Brown, sports at Mountainside High School have been put on hold again until further notice. Just a couple of weeks ago, all sports were cleared to begin training again, following the Covid-19 guidelines of staying 6 feet apart, checking in and out of practice using QR codes, and wearing masks at all times. Some sports decided to wait until the new year to begin training, others are waiting to see how the pandemic evolves.

As of now, some sports have chosen to cancel practice next week due to the upcoming Thanksgiving holiday. But boys soccer has issued an additional statement canceling practice until at least the beginning of December. Mr. Sorenson said, “The governor freeze did not affect outside training.  We just can’t do anything indoors, for now.” while also detailing future plans, “The hope is to start back up the week of Nov 30, and then pause again Dec 19-Jan 3 for the holiday break.”
